The Slippery Slope (2007)

Running Time: 2 minutes 51 seconds

The Slippery Slope is a short hand-drawn animation about a young boy confronting his inner fears and imagination as he works up the courage to slide his toboggan down a large snow covered hill. As we learn with the boy in the end, there is nothing to fear but fear itself.

development

The imagery for The Slippery Slope was produced through a fusion of pencil drawing and digital painting. Each hand drawing for the character and object animation was individually scanned into a computer and then taken into Adobe Photoshop for colouring. Once completed, the coloured drawings were imported into Adobe Flash to be sequenced and composited with separate background and foreground elements. The finished project including sound effects was stitched together using Final Cut Pro.
